The legend says that Romulus became the first king of Rome in 753 BCE {before common era} and he populated his new city with runaway slave and convicted criminals. He also stole women from Sabine Tribe to provide the slaves and criminals with wives. The Sabine Tribe was not happy with this and declared war on Rome the war went on for many years but eventually the Sabine Tribe and Romulus reached an agreement that the sabines became a part of Rome under the kingship Of Romulus.
